This piece is based on my memories of my grandmother's apartment, before she passed away in 2018. She was a holocaust survivor, and as a kid I didn't understand why she was acting the way she did. For me, she simply seemed like a bitter and grumpy old lady. Only when I grew older, I have learned about her past.
